WHERE SERVICE 1st CREDIT UNION STANDS ON PRIVACY

Many issues have been raised about the privacy of information as it relates to an individual's personal and confidential information.

Service 1st Credit Union holds all member transactional information in the strictest confidence.

The Credit Union believes that it has the obligation to collect and use member financial information only to administer its business, including offering members products, services or other opportunities designed to serve them better through an approved business partner relationship, such as the Credit Life Insurance product offered by CUNA Mutual Insurance. In those cases, the member retains the ability to decline the service. The Credit Union has set strict security standards to ensure that every member's personal information remains confidential, with only those credit union employees with a "need to know" having access to it.

Unlike other financial institutions, the Credit Union exists to serve its members by providing high-quality financial services that benefit them, not third party vendors. The Credit Union, under no circumstances, sells member information or mailing list to third party vendors. The Credit Union stands on the member's side in protecting the privacy of their financial and personal information.

OPTING OUT OF PRE-APPROVED CREDIT OFFERS

Although many consumers appreciate the convenience and customer service of general direct mail, some have a specific preference not to receive offers of pre-approved financing or credit. For this reason, Experian, Equifax and Trans Union have developed a toll-free number 888 5 OPT OUT. This phone number is maintained by all three major credit reporting companies, so a consumer's decision to remove his or her name from this list is shared among the credit reporting companies.

Contact the credit union if you want your account flagged with the OPT OUT option.
